December is a time of the year which is hectic and very busy. I am sure that all families are looking ahead to Christmas and all the preparations which need to be completed. With all the shopping (and excitement) it is sometimes difficult for the children to think about the meaning behind Christmas, so our values work, and the theme of ‘Thoughtfulness’ is particularly apt.
We want to encourage the children to think about others over the festive period. Thinking about all the nice things they get to do in the holidays and how they can be thoughtful to others in return – everything from saying ‘Thank You’, to planning what gifts they want to give to others. Thoughtfulness does not have to mean just giving gifts, it can also be a kind word or deed which makes someone happy.
