The values word for November is PEACE. It is a particularly appropriate value, as it is at this time of year, when we remember those who have fought and died during wartime. This year is particularly poignant, being the 100 years since the First World War.

Today, the children were taught about the messages behind Remembrance Day and the hope for a peaceful world in the future. Peace is an important value to share with the children – whether it is in the implications we learn from the past, or the smaller (but equally important) aspects of learning to live within a peaceful school community.
